HELP SEND CANONGATE STUDENTS TO ROME!
Just a few weeks before students returned to classes, Sedrick Dellinger, principal of Canongate, received an email from Mo Woltering, headmaster of Holy Family Academy outside of Washington D.C. Within was a stunning invitation: the opportunity to join them for a 10-day pilgrimage to Rome!
Daily Mass in the Eternal City. Day trips to Assisi and the catacombs. Tours of the four major basilicas in Rome. Great fellowship between Catholic schools. Sunday Angelus with Pope Francis. And much more! (See a more complete itinerary below.)
We fly out of Dulles International on November 19th. 15 Canongate pilgrims: 8 students. 1 alumnus. 6 adults.
Needless to say, the students are beside themselves with excitement. Along with the 25 pilgrims from Holy Family Academy, they are about to experience a life-defining week in the capital of the Western Tradition.
Such a trip fits perfectly within the Canongate mission, and Mr. Dellinger is so grateful to Mo Woltering. The two leaders met this summer in Philadelphia at a classical school’s conference hosted by the Institute for Catholic Liberal Education.
As you might expect, these Canongate pilgrims are not in a position to pay full price for a Pilgrimage, even this affordable one, in such a short amount of time. And preparing for this in two months at the beginning of a busy, new academic year limits the school’s fundraising efforts. That said, each student, with family assistance, has already contributed nearly half of the $2,300 to participate.
So, please prayerfully consider assisting these young Catholic students and impacting a life forever. If you are able to make a contribution, and want to be a part of this historic Catholic moment in WNC, you may do so by November 1st through the Canongate website or by mailing a check to:

On behalf of all the students and Mr. Dellinger, thank you!!
Feel free to call the school and speak with Mr. Dellinger if you would like to know more about the trip to Rome, or learn more about the faith-centered education that Canongate offers.
